MINDFUL EATING
Being present in the moment, in body, mind, and spirit, while eating,
is far from easy. It is a skill that requires time, effort and
patience, and it needs to be practiced.
Yet what could be a more enjoyable thing to practice? Well...
When we eat mindfully, we become connected to our body's innate
wisdom and knowing. Over time it can realign us with our
body's natural signals and messages which we usually do not pay
enough attention to. If continued, it will ultimately effect
our lives in unexpected and far reaching ways.
I'd like to invite you to join me in the experience of a guided
MINDFUL MEAL. When practiced in community with like-minded
people, mindful eating can be as enjoyable as any feast ever has
been. The lessons learned together are valued even more
deeply and the sense of support creates a bond of friendship and
goodwill among participants.
We begin with an introduction and overview of mindfulness and mindful
eating, and proceed to the dinner table where I guide the
participants through the meal in a practice of mindfulness as it
relates to food and the act of eating. Typically I like to
present organic and vegetarian fare. Often organic wine is
served, and we do our best to make it delicious.
It is an understatement to say that it is a profound experience and
that it does indeed begin to transform our relationship to food as
well as to the rest of our lives.
Mindful Eating Workshops are scheduled last Friday of every other
month. If you are interested in hosting and/or cooking for a Mindful
Meal let me know that as well. Contact me for
more information.
